Niflheim Records

A metal record shop from Nuremberg: used and new vinyl, signed rarities, collectibles and Viking crafts. Plus an editorial arm that visits festivals, runs interviews and writes about mythology.

The stock is curated, not algorithmic: used records next to new ones, signed copies, collectibles, second-hand tour shirts and Viking crafts. Every used record is graded individually, which is why each item carries its own price rather than a category.

Sample text at the intended length. Three or four sentences on how Niflheim Records came about: what was missing for you, what you first did by hand, and when it became clear this would turn into something. Concrete, in your own words, no marketing voice.

Why you built Niflheim Records. Nothing public on the site states a motive, so nothing is written here.

  • What was missing that Nuremberg or the internet did not have?
  • Why used and signed rather than only new stock?
  • When did collecting turn into a shop?
[EINBLICK · LUIS] 420 characters

Sample text at the intended length. This is where the one thing you want to share publicly goes, technical or creative. Three or four sentences: what the problem was, how you solved it, and what surprised you. Enough substance that a peer nods, and short enough that nobody drops out.

One technical or creative insight you want to share publicly. None of it may come from the repo, only what you choose to tell.

  • How do you grade a used record, and how do you write that down?
  • How does a blog piece come about, from research to photograph?
  • What does the shop do differently from an off-the-shelf store?

Echoes From Tuonela
The shop's editorial arm: festival reports, interviews and long pieces on Norse, Finnish and Slavic mythology and its traces in metal.
Video and social
The shop's YouTube channel and social accounts are produced entirely in-house: shooting, editing, copy and publishing.
Dispatch
The shop commits to dispatch within 24 hours. That commitment is public on the site and is only repeated here.
Language
The shop runs in English, because buyers come from all over Europe.
